TJ’s Gym WOD for Fri. Nov 9th

A quick word from the Games Director, Allison:

It’s taken me a while to get this down, so apologies for that. Many thank-you’s have already been made via personal emails and the discussion board, but let me reiterate a few here:

Jason Bannister worked tirelessly for days, making sure all the equipment would be ready to go. His attention to detail is what made the Games tick. We absolutely couldn’t have done it without him.

Joe Ball had the thankless and challenging job of Head Judge. After weeks roaming the globe for his real job, Joe dove right in to take on the role he has performed so well many times over.  He asks for no credit or acknowledgement; Joe just helps out because he loves this place.

All of our judges, including our awesome coaching staff and the few others who stepped up and took on this rewarding but exhausting role, made this day possible. Thank you all for all you did!

Our volunteer crew was amazing. Kathie Parsons found her niche telling judges and athletes where to go when.  Sandy Boyd ran our gear store ALL DAY.  Kandi Blomquist, Jim Simkalo, Carlos Botas, Jennifer Luttrell, Mark Mossing, Lindsay Sinclair, Taylor Lawson, Sierra Knolle, and Lisa Smith all made sure the floaters went off without a hitch.

Jeremiah Mehler not only judged but also stayed as late as I did on Subsay night to break down equipment and then drive the rig in a trailer back to the SR gym. Above and beyond.

The Redpath family not only stepped up as huge sponsors via their great company, Protect Perform, but they hauled and helped set up gear all weekend long.

Tyler Anderson won the Spirit of the Games award for his crazy labor all weekend, despite being a competitor, himself.  Sidekick, Evan Massey, joined in the fun of collecting equipment from all over town.

Jerry Kohler took photos all day long.  He is a fantastic photographer, and we are lucky that he captured so many special moments on film.  You can see his photos via the discussion board. Thank you, Jerry!

Thanks to Andy Boone for testing some workouts, bouncing ideas around as workouts were finalized, and managing the floater wods like it was his job.

Thanks to Marcus for manning the scoring desk all day.

And of course a huge thanks to TJ, the namesake of this crazy thing, whose passion for this community and commitment to excellence continues to blow my mind five years in.  None of us would be here in this same way with this same group doing this same thing without TJ.  Period.

In the next few days I’ll get out a recap of our sponsors and how you can benefit from their products and services.

One final thank you to all of the competitors and spectators who came to cheer you on.  This event takes a whole lot of work and has truly become a labor of love for us. Watching you all lay it on the line and cheer for each other is plenty reward for the work that goes into it. I hope you all came away feeling proud, inspired, and motivated for more! Thank you!
