WOD for TJ’s Gym CrossFit San Rafael/Corte Madera/Novato Tues. April 19th, 2011

From Coach Jasha:

While you all were grilling and drinking beer, Olivia and Sean N. were
moving big weights!
15 year old Sean Nichols, brother to our very own Danny, competed in his
first weightlifting meet and rose to the challenge. Sean sailed through his
snatches, powering all three and finishing with an easy 80kg (176lbs) for a
PR. In the C&J Sean made 2 of 3 attempts, tying his PR with 102kg (225lbs).
Sean crushed the qualifying total for the School Age Nationals by 25kilos!
Thats 55lbs. This 15 year old has a bright future and will hopefully be
joining us in Georgia.
Olivia has been training really hard and it showed. We treated today like a
“tune up” meet in preparation for the Juniors. It was also an opportunity
for her to compete at her new, lighter weight class. The lbs are still
flying off. Olivia showed the poise of a veteran and made all 6 attempts,
finishing with PRs in the snatch 53kg(117lbs), the C&J with 68kg (150lbs)
and a huge PR total of 121kgs.
I am so proud of these kids and all of their hard work. They will do us all
proud in Georgia.

Big stuff going on over at the Barbell Club I tell ya.

We hope you are digging the new website.  Take a look at the Events pane for all of the upcoming stuff.  Additions or changes to the schedule, events and all kinds of stuff will be announced there so take a look.

Is Sugar Toxic? brought to us by the NY Times.  Thanks Brad.
