WOD for TJ’s Gym CrossFit San Rafael/Corte Madera/Novato Sat. April 9th, 2011

Cannot for the life of me remember if I have put Astrid on the blog yet but today she deserves celebrity status.  She was in my class today at 9:30 and she had to learn the squat clean to thruster/jerk/push press or whatever.  She was incredibly patient and didn’t show a bit of emotion which really impressed me.  The calmness that she showed during the learning process of the workout completely rubbed off on me.  Surprisingly it was a very hectic day.  With just five minutes of an AMRAP you would think otherwise.  Modifications, injuries, inexperience and emotions were just a few of the curveballs coaches had to manuever today.  At one point I gave her a tip that she was able to use immediately and she paused and put her hands together like she was going to pray and gave me a little bow of thanks.  Much like Rebecca Kuga does every time she leaves the gym. ( I see you Rebecca)  Funny but that made me feel awesome.  Like I was really helping someone and she was completely grateful.  Thanks Astrid.

We will be at San Marin High School trying to cure cancer at the Relay for Life event at 11:30- 12:30 tomorrow morning.  We will be running a giant kids class so bring the little monsters over for a pre nap burnout.

Next Saturday  4/16 from 1:30-3:30 we will be hosting a BBQ in San Rafael to celebrate the achievements of our latest group of 8 weekers.  There are some amazing transformations that are going to be revealed.  Everyone is invited.  Come early and cheer on the Open Sectional Athletes who will be competing from 12-2pm.  We will be supplying some burgers and dogs but bring whatever you’d like.
